Michigan – Diana Ross
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan – the home of legendary record label Motown – Diana Ross found superstardom in the 60s with Motown girl group The Supremes.
By the 1970s Ross went solo, enjoying even greater success. She was also Oscar-nominated for one of her few major films, portraying Billie Holiday in 1972’s Lady Sings the Blues.
