Kansas City’s Janelle Monáe broke into music in the early 2000s, and has since become one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters and rappers of her generation, and a ten-time Grammy nominee.
Monáe has also since enjoyed success in acting, appearing in such hits as the Oscar-winning Moonlight, plus Hidden Figures and Glass Onion.
